LOW-cost airline fastjet has secured two new
agreements with global travel search and comparison company Skyscanner and Hahn
Air Systems, expanding access for travel agents worldwide to book and sell its
flights, as well as boosting fastjet’s exposure to agencies significantly.
“Continuing
our success in establishing fastjet as a true low-cost airline, we now want to
expand access to our affordable pan-African flights to travel agents worldwide.
Our new partners will benefit from fastjet's drive
for cost-efficient global distribution in both traditional and digital arenas,”
said fastjet commercial head Ellis Cain-Jones.
The airline’s partnership with Skyscanner, which
boasted over 25-million website visitors a month, would enable consumers to
compare fastjet's flight schedules and prices against those of other African
carriers on Skyscanner’s website, as well as link to fastjet’s website to book
flights.
The low-cost carrier's deal with Hahn Air would see
fastjet feature on the main global distribution systems, including Amadeus,
Sabre and Travelport, next month, giving the airline access to over 90 000
travel agencies worldwide.
