SAMSUNG has unveiled an update to its Galaxy Grand
smartphone, complete with a HD resolution screen and quad-core processor.Samsung have upgraded their Galaxy Grand smartphone
with a new, higher resolution screen and a more powerful processor.
The
5.25" display has been upgraded from the 800 x 480 resolution on the first
Grand to 1,280 x 720 on the Grand 2, with a 16:9 ratio that should mean that
films and TV shows fill the screen nicely.
The new model also gets a more powerful 1.2GHz
quad-core processor rather than the previous dual-core, dual SIM support and a
larger 2,600mAh battery which Samsung claims should provide 10 hours of video
playback and 17 hours of call time.
In terms of memory, you get 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB of
internal storage and a microSD card slot that allows a further 64GB of
expansion. The device will run Android 4.3 Jelly Bean which will be overlaid
with Samsung's proprietary TouchWiz software.
The camera remains 8mp, or 1.9mp while shooting
video in HD. It will be available in white, with black and pink versions being
launched only in some regions. It will come to the UK but no details have been
released on how much it will cost when it arrives.
