ATCL's new Acting CEO outlines ambitious growth plan

THE Newly appointed Acting Air Tanzania Company Limited (ATCL) CEO Captain Milton Lusajo Lazaro has expressed optism that ATCL has a brighter future if the company’s five year development plan is implemented.

Lusajo through a statement issued yesterday said he would use his vast experience in the aviation industry not only to make ATCL competitive but also a world class service provider.

Cpt. Lusajo is a respected member of the aviation industry not only in East Africa but Africa as a whole with up to 12,000 flying hours and held various positions in the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) and ATCL prior to his latest appointment.

“Am so grateful for the minister’s faith in me and do accept this appointment with humility. My assurance is that I will use my 35 years of experience in the aviation industry to give ATCL a competitive edge. Most important I count on the support and commitment of my colleagues and the ATCL team in order to achieve our objectives as well as meeting public expectations,” he said.

Lazaro said the company will not register interruptions in service delivery during ATCL’s operations adding that all the company’s flights will continue to take off and land as scheduled even after the change in management.

“There is no reason for the public to worry. What has happened is change of management but the company’s plans and focus remains intact,” he said.

Capt. Lazaro added that he on focused to increasing Air Tanzania’s fleet through acquisition of new airplanes via purchase and leasing facilities in a bid to consolidate the company’s position both domestically and internationally in the next few years.

“ATCL cannot achieve such success without public and Government support. I call upon the public to continue with the spirit of patriotism they have shown within a few weeks after the resumption of our company’s services.

“My assurance to the public is that my company will continue to give excellent products at competitively lower prices as compared to other service providers in the market,” he said.
